Perfect weather. Perfect field. Perfect night.
On a night when we were short-handed, and without any substitutes for the second half, we played our best game of the season. Everything you talk about, and sometimes scream about, came to pass last night. We played an efficient, ball-control game that made us appear as if we actually knew what we were doing. Playing our second game in three days, instead of looking tired we looked tuned. We moved the ball around the field in a way that had me pinching myself. Everyone who took the field played better than I’ve ever seen them. It was an all-out team assault that had Los Pinos chasing from the opening whistle. Increasingly frustrated, they eventually resorted to fouling and at that point it was all over.
On a night when we had to win, we put forth a supreme effort that won’t soon be forgotten. Well done.
