“1284” - A short film about Pelé, at the age of 69, trying to score the final goal of his career with Brazil in a match against Argentina. Pele, of course, scored 1283 goals in his career, more than any other professional.
Although the legend played with the New York Cosmos, Pelé is loved by so many Brazilians because he chose to play in Brazil with Santos for most of his career rather than with a European club like so many South Americans do in modern football. This 5 minute tribute shows a unique lens on the passion a player can have for his country. Pelé loves Brazil, but more importantly he loves the beautiful game. But, as a Brazilian, don’t those go together wonderfully? I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
